When will I receive my Health Insights Package results?

Yes. WLC Medical vouchers are available for appointments and services at the clinic, including DEXA scans and packages. Vouchers can be purchased for an existing patient or as a gift for someone who would like to access our services.

To purchase a voucher, please submit an enquiry through our online enquiry form, and a member of our reception team will contact you to arrange the voucher and payment. Alternatively, you can contact our clinic directly on (08) 6263 7778 or speak with our reception team at the clinic.

The Health Insights Package may be suitable for people who want a more comprehensive understanding of their bone health, body composition and metabolism.

This may include people focused on healthy ageing, people experiencing changes in weight or body composition, those who have experienced significant weight loss or use GLP-1 medications, women approaching or after menopause, men over 50, and people with risk factors that may affect bone density.

It can also be useful if you simply want to establish an objective health baseline that can be monitored over time.

You do not need to be experiencing a health concern to book the Health Insights Package.

Preparation is important because your appointment includes DEXA scanning and ECAL metabolism testing.

For your ECAL test, please fast for a minimum of 4 hours before your appointment. Water is permitted. Please also avoid exercise for at least 12 hours before your test.

For your DEXA scans, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing without metal zips, buttons, belts, underwire or hi-vis reflective tape where possible.

Full preparation instructions will be provided when you book your appointment.

Your appointment includes a brief discussion of your ECAL metabolism results and initial DEXA results with an Accredited Practising Dietitian.

Due to the amount of information collected during the appointment, the Health Insights Package does not include comprehensive dietetic advice, personalised nutrition planning or an individualised meal plan.

If you are seeking detailed nutrition advice, including support with weight management, nutrition planning or other health goals, we recommend booking a separate Dietitian consultation.

The Health Insights Package combines three assessments during one 60-minute appointment with an Accredited Practising Dietitian:

Bone Density DEXA Scan – measures Bone Mineral Density (BMD) and provides T-score and Z-score measurements to help identify areas of reduced bone density.

Total Body Composition DEXA Scan – provides detailed information about your muscle mass, body fat, visceral fat, fat distribution and bone mineral content.

ECAL Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing – measures how much energy your body uses at rest rather than relying on estimates or predictive equations.

Together, these assessments provide a comprehensive snapshot of your bone health, body composition and metabolism.

The Health Insights Package is $305 and includes a Bone Density DEXA scan, Total Body Composition DEXA scan and ECAL Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) testing during a 60-minute appointment with one of our Accredited Practising Dietitians.

Your ECAL results are available during your appointment, and your initial DEXA results will be briefly discussed with you. Your comprehensive DEXA report will be provided within 7 business days.

Private health rebates may be available for the eligible Dietitian consultation component of your appointment, depending on your health fund and level of cover. We recommend checking directly with your private health insurer to confirm your eligibility and expected rebate.
