To help you keep doing what's important to you

Adam Johnston

B.Sc. (Physiotherapy)
B.Sc. (Exercise & Health Science)

As a Physio at WLC Medical, it’s my job to help keep you moving and doing the things you want to do.

This first involves sitting down and discussing your injury and/or pain to discuss the what, how and why. Being able to determine the root cause of an injury and any possible barriers to recovery goes a long way to ensuring positive outcomes and reduced risk of recurring injuries.

From there we assess, diagnose and treat as required, often with a basic home program given to provide the tools necessary for recovery. My goal is to achieve results as quickly as possible, keeping you out of the clinic and back to what’s important to you.

From a weight management perspective, this can involve Body Composition Analysis which we complete within the clinic. It involves measuring your body in terms of muscle/fat/fluid mass (at no extra cost), as well as treating any injuries and teaching you how to get the best out of your body.

With WLC Medical operating as a Registered NDIS Provider, I treat a broad range of NDIS patients both within our clinic and travel to people’s home, while also completing Functional Capacity Assessments on request to assist in funding approval and allocation.

As the Director of WLC Medical, it’s my job to make sure that the whole experience for you, from online to within the clinic and beyond, meets and maybe even exceeds your expectations.

Why I Love What I Do

Working as a Physiotherapist comes under the category of often challenging but hugely rewarding work. Having the opportunity to work with people in improving their mobility, managing their pain and assisting them in getting back to what’s important to them is pretty cool.

After graduating over 12 years ago and working prior to that as a sports trainer, I’m finding the challenge and reward more often now in working through the often multiple “whys” that can contribute to someone’s pain or impairment and overall health. Pain is a very complex and necessary series of systems in our body that often can’t be managed with only manual (hands on) therapy.

As a team working together at WLC Medical, we’re finding that especially evident in the people we treat with disabilities and those outside a healthy weight range, due to multiple and often correlating factors.

As someone who from my Year 1 report card “talks a lot and loves a challenge”, nothing has changed.

The vision to be a part of a happy and healthy Australia is a huge undertaking, but one I feel privileged to be able to try and make a positive contribution
