Endometriosis & Nutrition

Why did the client contact us?

A 29-year-old female presented to our clinic wanting to learn how nutrition could support her endometriosis and weight management goals.

She reported significant “endo bloat,” frequent nausea, constipation, painful intercourse, severe cramps and recurrent endometriosis flares.

What did we find?

We identified opportunities to improve her protein, fibre and overall nutrient intake, as well as several foods that appeared to trigger or worsen her gastrointestinal symptoms.

Our treatment plan

Over 12 months of monthly appointments, we developed an individualised nutrition plan focused on:

  • An evidence-based anti-inflammatory dietary pattern
  • Increasing protein and fibre
  • Key nutrients relevant to endometriosis
  • An individualised, evidence-informed supplement regime
  • Identifying and managing personal food triggers
  • Intuitive eating and sustainable weight management strategies

Results

Over the months, the client experienced a reduced frequency and severity of endometriosis flares, improved energy levels, reduced bloating, improved bowel habits and reduced pain during intercourse. She also reported greater confidence in managing her nutrition and symptoms and achieved a 7 kg weight loss.
